Making Christmas Dreams Come True

Hiromi Okuda's returns to Ala Moana Beach Park

December 22, 2009

AccesSurf was honored to assist the Okuda family to reunite their father with his long time swimming friends at his favorite swimming spot.

His son, wrote;

"Our father, Hiromi Okuda, went swimming every day at Ala Moana for nearly 40 years, until a serious stroke left him bedridden. Thanks to AccesSurf, he was able to visit his favorite beach. You should have seen the smile on Dad's face when he dipped his feet into the cool water, thanks to AccesSurf's adaptive beach wheelchair! Even better, many of Dad's beach buddies came down to see their friend and to offer their encouragement. Sun, surf, sand, and friends. There is no better medicine. Thank you, AccesSurf and Mark Marble, for showing our father that the beach and his buddies will continue to be part of his life."

It's a day that AccesSurf will never forget, thanks for sharing the experience with us Hiromi, friends and family.
